To offset the impact of CO₂ emissions, the Eco card enables you to connect with environmental protection projects in Vietnam. Simply access the Eco card management section, then select the green projects you are interested in, such as renewable energy production, reforestation, waste reduction, and more, by contributing/donating/purchasing carbon credits from these projects.
These projects empower you to take environmental action by offsetting an amount of CO₂ equivalent to your contribution. The effectiveness of each green project is verified by Visa and leading international organizations specializing in climate change and sustainable development.
CO₂ emissions generated from consumption activities are a primary driver of global climate change. Each of us can spread care for the Earth and adopt a greener lifestyle by tracking and offsetting these emissions.
The Eco card estimates CO₂ emissions based on your spending category and transaction value (in accordance with Visa’s conversion model). You can monitor the kilograms of CO₂ emitted in the Eco card management section on the Techcombank Mobile application.
Based on the CO₂ emissions generated and offset, the Eco card helps measure your level of sustainable living through a Green Score. Additionally, you can view the overall green performance and collective efforts of the Eco card community within the card management section.
Along with the physical card made from recycled PVC, you can also go with the digital version and turn your phone into a bank card.

The greenhouse gases from our spending and consumption are a big part of what drives climate change.
But with the Eco card, you can show your care for the planet and live greener by tracking and offsetting those emissions.
Every time you spend with your Eco card, it estimates the greenhouse gases produced based on what you buy and how much you spend (as per Visa Sustainability Index framework).
You can check how many kilograms CO₂ you've made in the card management section of the Techcombank Mobile app.
To help offset the impact of greenhouse gases, your Eco card connects you with environmental projects across Vietnam.
Simply go to the Eco card management section, choose a project you’re passionate about—whether it's reducing waste, producing renewable energy, or reforesting—and make a contribution.
These projects will help you take action for the environment, offsetting greenhouse gases equal to the amount you contribute.
The effectiveness of each project is verified by Visa and leading organization on climate change and substainable development.
Based on the greenhouse gases you've emitted and offset, the Eco card shows how eco-friendly your spending is with the Green score.
Additionally, you can view the collective green efforts and impact of the Eco card community in the card management section.

Frequently asked questions
Grennhouse gas emissions amount (CO₂) is automatically estimated based on your spending category and transaction amount on the Eco card.
The amount you spend in each category will be converted into the corresponding average emissions, based on Visa Sustainability Index framework.
For example, VND 10,000 spent on Transportation might correspond to 0.032 kg CO₂ (the real numbers may vary).
CO₂ offset is the feature allowing you to compensate for your unavoidable emissions with some offset payments. Techcombank will transfer your payments to the feature provider. Those payments will then be distributed to projects that reduce or remove CO₂ elsewhere.
The VISA Sustainability Index is designed by VISA to estimate the carbon footprint and is integrated into Techcombank Visa Eco Debit Card for the first time in Vietnam. This index framework introduces an innovative method to estimate greenhouse gas emissions based on card usage.
Gold Standard is a prestigious international organization that sets the world's leading standards on climate change and sustainable development.
