How to estimate greenhouse gas emissions when spending with Eco Card?

Grennhouse gas emissions amount (CO₂) is automatically estimated based on your spending category and transaction amount on the Eco card. 
 

The amount you spend in each category will be converted into the corresponding average emissions, based on Visa Sustainability Index framework. 
 

For example, VND 10,000 spent on Transportation might correspond to 0.032 kg CO₂ (the real numbers may vary).

What is CO₂ offset?

CO₂ offset is the feature allowing you to compensate for your unavoidable emissions with some offset payments. Techcombank will transfer your payments to the feature provider. Those payments will then be distributed to projects that reduce or remove CO₂ elsewhere.

What is Visa Sustainability Index?

The VISA Sustainability Index is designed by VISA to estimate the carbon footprint and is integrated into  Techcombank Visa Eco Debit Card for the first time in Vietnam. This index framework introduces an innovative method to estimate greenhouse gas emissions based on card usage.

How reputable is the international organization that certifies green projects for Eco Card?

Gold Standard is a prestigious international organization that sets the world's leading standards on climate change and sustainable development.

What are the fees when paying in USD?

When making a transaction in foreign currencies using Techcombank Visa Eco Debit card, your transaction will be charged foreign currency transaction conversion management fee and transaction processing fee (including VAT).

CVV stands for Card Verification Value. CVV2 is a code to authenticate the cardholder when making card payment transactions on the Internet.
