Established for more than 5 years, Economic and Financial Market Analysis (MA) team has been growing in importance thanks to its more crucial contribution to the success of the Bank and to the interbank association. MA is currently in the Finance & Planning Division, serving a wide range of internal and external stakeholders by providing timely and trustful updates and forecasts on key indicators of macroeconomics and financial markets.
MA was originally formed by the merger of Strategic Analysis and Market Analysis teams, and has been involved in a plenty of strategic projects such as Initial Public Offering (IPO), IFRS9, ICAAP, 5-year strategy refresh, etc. MA is in charge of critical analyses and forecasts on macroeconomics, banking sector and financial markets which are based on a solid foundation of both qualitative insights and quantitative models. These forecasts are key inputs for business/investment planning and decision making processes utilised by not only Techcombank but also individual and institutional clients/investors. Being inspired by the Bank's vision and missions and closely following 5-year strategies on Data, Digital and Talent, MA always has customer-centric mindsets and also pays great attention to building automated dashboards, training people and improving internal capabilities.
Techcombank's MA has been an active participant of Vietnam Interbank Research Association (VIRA). With a team of top-school graduates with many years of working experiences, MA is the leading team in forecasting key economic and market indicators such as CPI, bond yield, interbank rate and exchange rate.In the last 5 years, MA has been honoured in Top 3 forecast performance for 8 times. Although 2021 was the most challenging year with tons of uncertainties from COVID-19, MA still ranked the first prize in bond yield forecast and the second rank in CPI estimation, out of 22 participants.
Moving forward, MA has been thriving to become a well-reputed research centre nation-wide and region-wide.
Mr Dang Ngoc Canh held a Master's Degree in Public Policy at National University of Singapore (NUS). He had more than 10-year working experience at Foreign Exchange Management Department and Monetary Policy Department of State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), and has also significantly contributed to commercial banks. Mr Canh has been working over 10 years at Techcombank, and has been Senior Assistant of Board of Directors. He is currently Director of Economic and Financial Market Analysis, and Vice President of Vietnam Interbank Research Association (VIRA).
Mr Nguyen Hoang Tung (Tungy) held a First-class BSc (HONS) Economics as a Top prize winner and a Martin Holloway prize winner awarded annually to The Best Student in the Management and Economics Faculty, with regard to Academic and Intellectual Distinction at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He also graduated from MSc Economics at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 5 years of working at Techcombank, Mr Tung has been honoured as an excellent employee of Division for many times. He is an expert at analysing, building forecasting models of macroeconomic indicators and financial markets.
Ms Vu Thuy Duong (Clover) graduated from University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in 2017, with a First-class BA (HONS) Banking and Finance. She, then, got a Distinction LLM International Banking and Finance Law at UWE Bristol in 2018. Besides, Ms Duong passed CFA level 2 in 2019. She worked as an FX, Gold and Derivatives product analyst at other commercial banks, and as a Senior Investor Relations Officer for 3 years at Techcombank.
Ms Phan Thi Huyen Cam graduated with a BSc Finance and Banking from Vietnam National University (VNU) - University of Economics and Business in 2018. Prior to joining Techcombank, she has 4 years of experience at FiinResearch - where she was responsible for providing comprehensive analyses on Vietnam's financial market, specifically on banking and consumer finance. Currently known as a Senior Economic and Financial Market Analyst at Techcombank, Ms Cam is responsible for conducting analyses and reports on macroeconomics and financial market.
Ms Le Hanh Quyen graduated from Banking Academy in 2021, with a BSc Finance and Banking. She worked as a Macroeconomic and Banking Analyst at KB Securities Vietnam for 3 years. As a Senior Economic and Financial Market Analyst at Techcombank, Ms Quyen is proficient at writing reports, building and improving forecast models to enhance the quality of our services provided to customers.
