Established for more than 5 years, Economic and Financial Market Analysis (MA) team has been growing in importance thanks to its more crucial contribution to the success of the Bank and to the interbank association. MA is currently in the Finance & Planning Division, serving a wide range of internal and external stakeholders by providing timely and trustful updates and forecasts on key indicators of macroeconomics and financial markets.
MA was originally formed by the merger of Strategic Analysis and Market Analysis teams, and has been involved in a plenty of strategic projects such as Initial Public Offering (IPO), IFRS9, ICAAP, 5-year strategy refresh, etc. MA is in charge of critical analyses and forecasts on macroeconomics, banking sector and financial markets which are based on a solid foundation of both qualitative insights and quantitative models. These forecasts are key inputs for business/investment planning and decision making processes utilised by not only Techcombank but also individual and institutional clients/investors. Being inspired by the Bank's vision and missions and closely following 5-year strategies on Data, Digital and Talent, MA always has customer-centric mindsets and also pays great attention to building automated dashboards, training people and improving internal capabilities.
Techcombank's MA has been an active participant of Vietnam Interbank Research Association (VIRA). With a team of top-school graduates with many years of working experiences, MA is the leading team in forecasting key economic and market indicators such as CPI, bond yield, interbank rate and exchange rate.In the last 5 years, MA has been honoured in Top 3 forecast performance for 8 times. Although 2021 was the most challenging year with tons of uncertainties from COVID-19, MA still ranked the first prize in bond yield forecast and the second rank in CPI estimation, out of 22 participants.
Moving forward, MA has been thriving to become a well-reputed research centre nation-wide and region-wide.
Mr Dang Ngoc Canh held a Master's Degree in Public Policy at National University of Singapore (NUS). He had more than 10-year working experience at Foreign Exchange Management Department and Monetary Policy Department of State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), and has also significantly contributed to commercial banks. Mr Canh has been working over 10 years at Techcombank, and has been Senior Assistant of Board of Directors. He is currently Director of Economic and Financial Market Analysis, and Vice President of Vietnam Interbank Research Association (VIRA).
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung (Tungy) holds a First-class BSc (Hons) in Economics as a Top Prize winner and a Martin Holloway Prize winner, awarded annually to the best student in the Management and Economics Faculty for academic and intellectual distinction at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He also graduated with an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During his many years at Techcombank, Mr. Tung has been honored multiple times as an excellent employee of the division. He is an expert in analyzing and building forecasting models for macroeconomic indicators and financial markets. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Vietnam Interbank Market Research Association (VIRA).
Ms. La Phuong Thao graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National Economics University. Ms. Thao has more than 13 years of professional experience in Finance - Banking, including more than 10 years working at Techcombank and 3 years in KPMG Vietnam. During her time at Techcombank, Ms. Thao contributed across various positions: Strategic Planning Management, Investor Relations, Financial Reporting and participated in the Bank's IFRS9 project. Currently, Ms. Thao is responsible for building forecasting models, Banking industry analysis, ESG analysis for the Banking industry and other selected sectors.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang graduated from Hanoi University in Business Administration in 2013, and passed CFA level III examination in 2023. Before joining Techcombank, Ms. Hang had more than 10 years of professional experience in market research and investment finance in the fields of energy, construction, real estate, information and communications technology (ICT), logistics, etc. in FDI enterprises and CMC Corporation. At Techcombank, Ms. Hang is an expert on researching and analysing FMCG, Retails and Logistics sectors for the purpose of supporting the bank's business.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh graduated as a Salutatorian with a Bachelor's degree in International Economics (BSc International Economics) in 2021 at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Mr. Minh has nearly 4 years of experience in Investment Analysis and Finance roles at various organizations, including VNDIRECT Securities Corporation and Dragon Capital Group. In his role as a Senior Economic and Financial Market Analyst at Techcombank, Mr. Minh plays a critical role in the development of predictive models for economic indicators and financial market trends. He is also tasked with the creation of comprehensive analytical reports aimed at enhancing the quality of services offered to clients.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung graduated with honors in International Business - Japanese Advanced Models, receiving several academic and extracurricular scholarships from the university and businesses for outstanding students at the Vietnam - Japan Human Resource Development Institute (VJCC), Foreign Trade University. Prior to joining Techcombank, Mr. Hung gained experience through strategic and management consulting projects in the banking and public sectors at Boston Consulting Group and EY Consulting Vietnam. At Techcombank, he is responsible for participating in the development of sustainable growth plans and analysing economic sectors to support the bank's business orientation.
Ms Phan Thi Huyen Cam graduated with a BSc Finance and Banking from Vietnam National University (VNU) - University of Economics and Business in 2018. Prior to joining Techcombank, she has 4 years of experience at FiinResearch - where she was responsible for providing comprehensive analyses on Vietnam's financial market, specifically on banking and consumer finance. Currently known as a Senior Economic and Financial Market Analyst at Techcombank, Ms Cam is responsible for conducting analyses and reports on macroeconomics and financial market.
Ms Le Hanh Quyen graduated from Banking Academy in 2021, with a BSc Finance and Banking. She worked as a Macroeconomic and Banking Analyst at KB Securities Vietnam for 3 years. As a Senior Economic and Financial Market Analyst at Techcombank, Ms Quyen is proficient at writing reports, building and improving forecast models to enhance the quality of our services provided to customers.
