On September 24th 2013, Techcombank cooperated with Nhan Dan Newspaper to grant Vietseed scholarships worth VND 400 million to 20 top scorers of university entrance exams from poor families in the school-year of 2013 – 2014.

Attending the scholarship awarding ceremony were Mr. Do Tuan Anh, Member of Board of Directors cum Acting Chief Executive Officer of Techcombank, Mr. Thuan Huu, Central Party committee member, Chief Editor of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of Vietnamese Journalist Association; Mr. Phan Huy Hien, Vice Chief Editor of Nhan Dan Newspaper; and Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong, member of Nhan Dan Newspaper’s edition board, President of Vietseed Foundation Management Committee.

The scholarship winning students are the top scorers of the leading universities in Vietnam, and they come from poor and disadvantaged families in many regions of the country: Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Hue, Nam Dinh, Dak Lak, Ninh Binh, Binh Dinh, Hai Duong, Khanh Hoa… The scholarships are recognition and attestation of their great efforts in overcoming such obstacles and achieving excellent academic results.
 
Vietseed Foundation, co-founded by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Techcombank, made its debut on December 1, 2012 as the first national talent support foundation operated on a voluntary and non-profit basis. The foundation aims at recognizing and supporting socially and economically disadvantaged yet highly potential students and children who have achieved outstanding academic results in the national and international competitions, and helping excellent and devoted teachers as well as education projects such as construction of schools and education, cultural institutions. Co-founding the foundation represents Techcombank’s focus on education sector as the heart of its CSR activities.
