Dear Valued Customer,

Recently, scammers have been using tactics such as sending emails or messages impersonating banks with the following content: These messages may include the following content:

  • Notifications related to credit card fees or interest charges, alerts that membership or reward points are nearing expiry or high value gifts or large reward points
  • Requests to access links to receive refunds, cancel credit cards, redeem reward points, extend membership points.

To help ensure the highest level of security for your transactions, we recommend that you remain vigilant and take appropriate preventive measures to protect your personal finances, thereby ensuring a safe online banking experience.

HOW THE SCAM OCCURS

Step 1

Fraudulent messages are sent with links to fake websites designed to imitate Techcombank’s official channels (example: techcom-rewards-vn.com).

Step 2

The fake websites display content related to refunds, card cancellation, reward point redemption or extension, or valuable gifts, and request customers to enter account login and card Infor (phone number, card owner, card number, exp date, CVV, OTP).

Step 3

Using the obtained information, fraudsters may take control of accounts, transfer money, or perform unauthorized card payments.

POTENTIAL RISKS

If customers access fraudulent links or disclose information as requested, criminals may:

  • Steal account information, card details, login passwords, and transaction OTPs.
  • Install malware to take control of your device.
