[Hanoi, September 5, 2023] Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (“Techcombank” or the “Bank”) today announced that it has become the first and only Vietnamese bank to be named in the top 11 of "Best workplaces in Asia 2023" by the Great Place to Work (GPTW). Previously, in May 2023, the GPTW also gave Techcombank the highest ranking of "Best Workplaces in Vietnam 2023".

This recognition by GPTW, a leading global organization that assesses workplace culture, is a testament to Techcombank's relentless efforts on its 30-year journey of development to invest in its people and create a culture that empowers them to achieve their full potential.

Great Place To Work® identifies 2023 Best Workplaces in Asia™ by surveying 2.1 million employees in Asia and the Middle East about the key factors that create great workplaces for all and analyzing company workplace programs impacting 5.9 million employees in the region. Respondents are asked about their trust in their companies and in the company’s leadership. All the companies on the Great Place to Work list have impressive employee engagement indexes, with more than 90% of employees stating that they feel motivated and look forward to staying with their organization for the long term (this percentage far exceeds the average of 58% in other businesses).

Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work, said: The "Best workplaces in Asia” award demonstrates the value of investing in an organization's human capital and creating an enabling working environment where everyone can shine and thrive."

To be where it is today, Techcombank has invested heavily in its talents – one of the Bank’s three strategic pillars, alongside data and digitalization. The Bank stands out by constantly launching new initiatives to retain and develop talents, to inspire its employees to be at their best, and to offer competitive compensation packages. Specifically, the Bank is increasing its salary and welfare fund based on human resource development criteria and job architecture in accordance with the career roadmap of each individual.

The Bank’s HR policy also provides one-day of birthday leave, flexible working hours, and an inclusive environment where employees can have open dialogues with managers through periodic events such as Ted Talk or Leader Talk. To ease the financial pressure for employees in their home buying journey, Techcombank has introduced the financial solution, "An Cu", which has been welcomed by employees, with feedback showing they feel more financially secure and want to work long-term for the Bank.

During 2022 and 1H 2023, Techcombank achieved several important milestones in talent strategy when it successfully conducted a series of "Overseas Talent Roadshows" in the world's leading financial and technology hubs, including in Singapore, UK, US and Australia. These talent roadshows aimed to find and attract talented Vietnamese who wished to return to their homeland, and play a part in the digital transformation of the banking industry.

Nikki Dang My Quyen, Techcombank’s Chief HR Officer, said: "Becoming the first and only Vietnamese bank to be honored in the Great Place to Work Asian rankings is truly an important and proud milestone for the Bank. It reflects the excellent progress we have made on our three-decade journey to further improve our high-caliber workforce and create a high-trust working environment. This work is helping us to build a reputation as "one of the region’s leading banks" and one of the most preferred among employees and we are proud that this achievement has been recognized externally by many prestigious international awards.”

Techcombank succeeded with the Overseas Talent Roadshow

This is not the first time the bank has received prestigious regional and international HR awards. Most recently, Techcombank was honored among the "Best Workplaces in Asia 2023 - Best Company to Work for in Asia" for three consecutive years, organized by HRAA. It is also recognized as "Employer of The Year – Banking" and "Achievement in HR Technology" from Stevie Awards 2023. The achievement of these prestigious HR awards not only is the result of Techcombank's efforts in investing in its talents, but also uplifts a Vietnamese bank on its quest to be on par with its regional peers.
