Techcombank awards “Red Scarf to School” scholarships to needy students at Vu Di Secondary School, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc province

As the bank’s annual program, the “Red Scarf to School” has been implemented since 2011 with a message “All children have the right to education”. Accordingly, Techcombank awards “Red Scarf to School” scholarships to needy but studious students at primary and secondary schools, including those who are orphans or are suffering from critical diseases, etc. After 3 years of implementation, nearly 5,000 scholarships were awarded to students in 44 provinces and cities across the country with a total amount of VND 5.5 billion.
Following the above direction, in 2014, Techcombank continues to award 1,267 scholarships worth VND 1.8 billion and essential school supplies to children with difficulties at 100 schools in 35 provinces/cities nationwide. Particularly, Techcombank will award 12 special savings books worth VND 12 million each to students with good academic results in 3 consecutive years. Techcombank’s Red Scarf to School 2014 is launched at its branches based on site surveys at each school and locality to determine the right beneficiaries of the program. This also shows Techcombank’s appreciation for the support of localities throughout the country.
Particularly, on the first day of the school year on 5 September, Techcombank will award 865 scholarships to 52 schools in provinces throughout the country such as Lang Son, Vinh Phuc, Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hue, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, etc. The remaining scholarships will be directly awarded to students in the next weeks of September.

The “Red Scarf to School” symbolized by a red scarf lightens up learning dreams of children with difficulties across the country, showcasing Techcombank’s community responsibilities. Especially, the “Red Scarf to School” also received great support from the bank staff. They not only make financial contributions, but also directly participate in finding and nominating needy but studious students in provinces and cities to the scholarships. Over the past 3 years, the program has brought thousands of smiles and school dreams to disadvantaged students across the country.
The “Red Scarf to School 2014” program launched on the occasion of school year opening ceremony is among the bank’s activities in celebrating its 21
st anniversary on 27 September.
