On the morning of May 30th, Techcombank and Yen Bai city commenced the construction of social welfare centers at 2 communes and 3 wards of Yen Bai city.
This activity was carried out in support of Yen Bai city’s policy of mobilizing capital for urban development, new rural development, improvement of heathcare service at grassroot level and the quality of community education; the total amount needed for the whole endeavour is estimated at VND 26 billion.

On this occasion, Techcombank offered support by building 2 grassroot medical centers at Au Lac and Tuy Loc communes and 4 community learning centers at Yen Thinh, Nguyen Thai Hoc and Hong Ha wards. The total amount funded by Techcombank was VND 6 billion.

According to Mr. Nguyen Canh Hung, Head of Region 1, this represents a practical and meaningful CSR activity in improving the living standards of people in Yen Bai city.

The establishment of the medical centers is aimed at providing primary healthcare to people. Community learning centers will facilitate local people to gather together in joint activities, as well as allowing party organizations and civil society organizations to disseminate the regulations and policies of the party, government and local authority to the general public.

In the future, the bank will continue cooperating with Yen Bai province in organizing other CSR programs. Especially, in summer 2013, the bank will organize “Red Scarf to School” program under which it will grant valuable scholarships to poor students with excellent academic achievements.

The ground-breaking ceremonies funded by Techcombank were attended by leaders of City Party Committee, City People’s Committee, and many local people, which highlight close relationship between Techcombank -- the donor -- and local people.
